Mountain Biking in North Wales
Coed y Brenin has something to offer mountain bikers of all
abilities. All trails start and finish at the New Visitor Centre
where there is ample car parking, a café, toilets, changing and
shower facilities. Also located at the visitor centre is the
"Summit" bike shop for parts, spares/repairs and bike hire.
There are a total of 6 routes in the forest, from the 11 km Afon
Trail, all on forest roads, to the 38 km epic ride of "The
Beast".
The Lakes of North wales
Being located in North Wales gives unrivalled access to lakes,
estuaries, rivers and managed white-water sites:
- Lake Bala with magnificent mountain scenery
- Mile End Mill (Llangollen) managed site for Class II
white-water
- Canolfan Tryweryn (National White-water centre) for Class
II-III white-water
- River Tryweryn for Class II-IV white-water
Golf
North Wales offers you a world of golfing opportunities. With
easy access via the A55 Expressway which links to the main UK
motorways and airports, you'll be surprised at just how quickly you
could be playing on some of Europe's most fabulous courses. Take
your pick from a great mix of 28 challenging courses.
Snowdonia has a wealth of fishing locations within easy reach
of the hotel, be it coarse fishing, game fishing or sea fishing.
Licences are available locally alternatively we're happy to
help you find the information you need.
Walking
An area with an outstanding choice of walking from level short
strolls to mountaineering all with wonderful scenery and
magnificent views. These walks may start from the hotel (eg Torrent
Walk) or need a short drive to the start.
Delightful Drives
Quiet country roads and superb scenery at every turn. From the
hotel you can travel easily to any part of the Snowdonia National
Park and beyond. You can take in Snowdon itself, with visits to
Caernarfon and Conwy, or take a coastal drive around Harlech or
Aberdovey. There are also numerous lakes and high mountain passes
giving wonderful views, all easily accessible by car.
'Great little trains'
See the countryside from a train, whether narrow gauge steam or
the Cambrian coast line - the area is very well served. Climb
Snowdon the easy way - take the train or travel on the Ffestiniog,
Tal-y-llyn, Bala lake steam railways to enjoy views unique to this
form of travel.
